Lockport Street is now open in both directions (east-bound and west-bound) following substantial completion of the road reconstruction on October 29, 2008. On-street parking is also available on Lockport Street, in addition to the five public off-sitreet parking lots located throughout the downtown.

Lockport Street in Downtown Plainfield is a weight-restricted street. Trucks in excess of 20,000 pounds gross vehicular weight are prohibited, except for trucks making local deliveries. The designated truck routes for bypassing Downtown Plainfield are Route 126 (Main Street) and/or U.S. Route 30 (143rd Street).
