The Village will list here information about the contractors who will be performing construction activities so owners are familiar with what companies may be working on their property. The Village will maintain insurance information for contractors, and property owners are invited to contact us in the event you have a problem or would like to have a copy of the certificate of insurance. To date, the following companies are under contract to work on the project:

M&J Underground - installing new water services and water meters on a building-by-building basis.

The George Sollitt Construction Co. - acting as construction manager and overseeing all subcontracted work for the installation of a new water main, sanitary sewer service repair, road reconstruction and streetscape improvements. The exception is that M&J is not a subcontractor to Sollitt. M&J was contracted directly with the Village of Plainfield in advance of the award of Sollitt's contract to expedite the water service installation.

Demolition/Excavation - TBS Excavating is responsible for demolition and excavation of the existing pavement and sidewalks.

Underground Utilities - Dawn Companies will be constructing the new water main, storm sewer, and water and sanitary sewer service laterals.

Electrical Contractor - Lyons & Pinner has been contracted to perform electrical contracting, including street lighting and electrical for irrigation, sound system, etc.

Awning Removal - Storefront awnings will be removed by Kastelic Canvas. Awnings will be removed to avoid the potential for damage from construction-generated dirt and debris, as well as to eliminate the awnings as an overhead obstruction for heavy equipment during sidewalk construction.
